IV. DISPENSATIONALISM ADMITS TO THE FACT THAT GOD S REVELATION IS PROGRESSIVE -A Dispensational believer knows that we learn MORE about God and His Plan for us as we move through the Bible. -This is called PROGRESSIVE REVELATION!!! -If you get a hold of this, you will stay out of a lot of theological trouble! -By this we mean that the NT is our FINAL AUTHORITY! -EXAMPLE: -The Sabbath vs. The Lord s Day -The Doctrine of the Holy Spirit -The Repeating Sacrifices vs. Christ Once For All -You are in error when you attempt to put NT believers under the OT Dispensation! -Hebrews 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. and for ever. -Malachi 3:6 For I-(HJ>@Jj, P R @ ,NbH@N`(2"'( ) @S !"1""1CHNKWKS JTEXTTEXTFDPPFDPPFDPCFDPCSTSHSTSH STSHSTSH 2SYIDSYIDP SGP SGP d INK INK h BTEPPLC l BTECPLC FONTFONT <STRSPLC :PRNTWNPR!(&FRAMFRAM:GTITLTITLG DOP DOP G(ces continually to the altar, he was exercising Dispensationalism Ephesians 3:1-7 We are Fundamental Christians. We believe there are certain cardinal doctrines that we must not and cannot tamper with. In addition to being Fundamental Christians, we are Dispensational. In other words, we believe that God has dealt with man in different ways since the beginning of human history. Our Dispensational beliefs require us to divide the word of truth accordingly. In the TEXT tonight, Paul refers to THE DISPENSATION OF THE GRACE OF GOD. This is the era in which we live now, however, God did not always deal with man in this way. I. A DISPENSATION IS A PERIOD OF TIME -The Greek word from which we get Dispensation is ecomomai we render it today ECONOMY. -The word economy is a way of dealing with things in which certain rules and regulations are imposed. -In our KJV, the same word is sometimes translated DISPENSATION or STEWARDSHIP (Luke 16:2) -To simplify, a dispensation is a period of time in which a man handles the knowledge God has given him in a particular manner of obedience. -Example: The Dispensation of Law vs. Grace II. THE NATURE AND CHARACTER OF GOD IS NOT CHANGED WITH THE DISPENSATION -Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. -Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. -WRONG: God was a God of holiness in the OT, but is a God of love in the NT. God has always and will always be a God of holiness and love eternally. -The only thing that has changed is how God requires man to respond to the light He has given them. III. FAITH HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE FOUNDATIONAL PRINCIPLE OF ALL DISPENSATIONS -Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe (J @ .d` " "PS" "PS" "PS" "PS" "" "" " " tt(+Times New Roman " " "XX)"HP Deskjet 3920/3940d!CdXXDINU" PH{@SMTJHP Deskjet 3920/3940InputBinTray1RESDLLUniresDLLHPPreAnalysisFalseMSPreAnalysisFalseHPReportSymmetricMarginsFalseHPPrintPreviewFalseHPBorderLessPhotoFalseHPBorderLessAutoFitFalseHPOutputOrderReverseTrueHPOrientRotate180FalseJobUITruePaperSizeLETTEROrientationPORTRAITHPNUseDiffFirstPageChoiceTrueHPPrintInGrayScaleFalsePrintQualityNormalPrintQualityGroupPQGroup_2HPColorModeCOLOR_MODEHPPDLTypePDL_PCL3HPXMLFileUsedhpf3920t.xmlHPPosterPrintingFalseHPPosterPrintingOptionPOSTER_2HPMediaTypeTreeviewPopupTrueColorModeColor24TextAsBlackFalseCollateONMediaTypePLAINResolution600dpiPQDPIInstalledHPMirrorPrintFalseHPAutoDuplexScalingTrueHPPrintOnBothSidesManuallyFalseHPManualDuplexDialogItemsInstructionID_01_FACEUP-NOROTATEHPManualDuplexPageRotateUserRotateHPManualFeedOrientationFACEUPHPSpeedMechFastDraftHPOutputBinOrientationFACEUPHPManualDuplexDialogModelModalHPManualDuplexPageOrderOddPagesFirstHPMapManualFeedToTray1FalsePSAlignmentFileHPZlAlhnPSServicesOptionCleanHPConfigureCartridgeOptionBlackTriColorCartridgeHPCleaningFilesDataHP_Clean_TestPageHPConsumerCustomPaperHPCustomHPBornOnDateHPBODHPInputColorSpaceCOLORSMARTHPDriverDataTRUEHPDisplayPrintingHelpRegPathESPRITSupportedTrueHPRESDLLNameHPFRES50HPRedEyeReductionOffHPDigitalImagingHPHomePrintingHPSmartFocusOffHPContrastOnHPDigitalFlashOnHPSharpnessOnHPSmoothingOnHPJpegPngPassthroughTrueHalftoneHT_PATSIZE_DEFAULTHPHTDLLNameHPFIGlhnHPMHDLLNameHPFIME50HPCRDCommandTrueHPSendUnitMeasureCommandTRUEPIUPHdLetter o [none] [none]4Pd?BRAD44dMicrosoft Works Word Processorwkswp.exeC:\Program Files\Microsoft Works\wkswp.exe&winspoolHP Deskjet 3920/3940USB001F"D)""0A"$c"` "`""A."@"D)""0A"$c"` "`"."Message One.wps("""" (" HJ>@Jj, P R @ ,NbH@N`(2"'( ) @S !"1""1 Z O2Quill96 Story Group Class9qy`1ny`1ny`1n`1ny`1n`1ny`1n`1ny`1n&
